Currenti Cede Furori

Here is today's emblem and distich by Joachim Camerarius, 2:19. The animal depicted in this emblem is the Latin urus, a wild ox or European bison attested in Caesar and in Pliny, also known as an aurochs. Supposedly this beast had such a furious temper that hunter could hide behind a tree and shoot at it while it charged the tree; when wounded in this way, the urus got even angrier and angrier so that the hunter could easily defeat the beast.
