Tribulatio Ditat

Here is today's emblem and distich by Gabriel Rollenhagen, Book 1:96, with an English rendering by George Wither. In the emblem, you can see the hand of God wielding the farmer's instruments, and we are the crops.

Tribulat atque quatit segetes, ditescere sperans,
Rusticus, et nobis crux bene nostra facit.


Affliction, doth to many adde
