Dominus Providebit

Here is today's emblem and distich by Joachim Camerarius, 3:2. In his essay about this emblem, Camerarius explains that he was inspired by the emblematic eagle, sitting atop the world, adopted by the Emperor Maximilian II (1564-1576), with the motto "Deus Providebit" (as in Genesis 22:8).

Dominus Providebit
Et laeta simul et tristis provisio sortit,
Inprimis virtus principe digna viro est.
