Quot morbi partes...

Here is another Rhyming Distich, and here are some more posts with Rhyming Distichs. This one comes from the Florilegium Gottingense edited by Voigt.

Quot morbi partes, tot sunt medicaminis artes:
Mille mali species, mille salutis opes.

The vocabulary is keyed to the DCC Latin Vocabulary list. There is only one word in this poem that is not on the DCC list:

medicāmen, medicāminis n. - drug, medicine, remedy

ars artis f.: skill
malus -a -um: evil
mille (pl.) milia: thousand
morbus -ī m.: sickness, disease
ops opis f.: assistance, resources
pars, partis f.: part
quot: how many?
salūs -ūtis f.: health, safety
speciēs -ēī f.: aspect, appearance
sum, esse, fuī: be, exist
tot: so many
