Sit bonus interpres...

Here is another Rhyming Distich, and here are some more posts with Rhyming Distichs. I found this poem in the collection Philosophia Patrum edited by Julius Wegeler.

Sit bonus interpres, nil mala verba nocent;
Sit malus interpres, nil bona verba docent.

The vocabulary is keyed to the DCC Latin Vocabulary list. There is only one word in this poem that is not on the DCC list:

interpres, interpretis - interpreter, translator, expounder

bonus -a -um: good
doceo -ēre -uī doctum: teach
malus -a -um: evil
nihil, nīl: nothing; not at all
noceo nocēre nocuī: harm
sum, esse, fuī: be, exist
verbum -ī n.: word
