Martial 5.43: Dentes

Here is today's distich by Martial, 5.43. You can find an English verse version plus English vocabulary below.

Thais habet nigros, niveos Laecania dentes.Quae ratio est? Emptos haec habet, illa suos.

Kate's teeth are black, white lately Bell's are grown:
Bell buys her teeth, and Kate still keeps her own.

The vocabulary is keyed to the DCC Latin Vocabulary list. There are only two words in this poem that are not on the DCC list, plus two proper names:
